General Welding Techniques CP = Certificate of Proficiency | 15 hours

The PCCUA Welding program prepares students for the world of work.  Students enrolling in this program acquire skills needed and are provided with a complete OSHA approved safety orientation and practice in welding training booths. PCCUA instructors make sure students have a great learning experience and hands-on training in a variety of welding procedures including:

  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
  • Gas Metal Arc Welding (TIG/MIG).
  • Pipe Welding
  • Inert Gas Welding

Students will understand and demonstrate the following skills:

  • Students will achieve an understanding of welding symbols and print drawing and reading

  • Students will use the correct procedure in setting up equipment and the skills used in welding

  • Understand and apply welding procedures for various welding applications.

  • Demonstrate skill in the following:

  • Oxy-fue lcutting

  • Plasma cutting

  • Air carbon

  • Arc cutting

  • Exothermic cutting

  • Arc and oxy acetylene welding
