Move With Ease: The Move With Ease program is a series of routines intended for adults with chronic pain. The design of this class includes yoga-based movements to strengthen and increase flexibility, breathing exercises, body scan/guided meditation exercises, and short lessons on self-management techniques for chronic pain. This is a 6-week class, 2 days a week. Times and dates TBA.

Fitness Center (non-credit): Join our Fitness Center, and let us help you become a healthier person. The fitness center is open on Monday-Thursday from 6:30 am - 1:30 pm, and 6:30 am - 3:00 pm on Fri. Semester fee is $55; full-time students $25; and seniors (60 and older) $25.


Martial Arts (non-credit): Tae Kwon Do meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 20 - April 16. Ages 6-14 will meet from 5:30-6:30 pm, and ages 15 and up meet from6:30-7:30 pm. Children ages 6-14 ($55); ages 15 and up ($75). Credit class will meet from 6:30-7:30 pm at a cost of 1 credit hour. Classes will beheld in the Fine Arts Lobby & Hendrix Gallery. 


Dance for Students: Classes for spring start the week of Jan. 5. Students returning from the fall semester will have the same schedule. Where space is available,newcomers may enroll but will not be able to participate in the recitals. The spring recitals will be held April 11 at 2:30 pm and April 25 at 6:00pm. Prices for the spring semester are the same as the fall.


Workforce Education: Workforce Education provides non-credit classes offered for the purpose of developing or improving professional skills. Classes arranged with industry and business to meet specific training needs. Line Dancing: Join our dance department instructor, Marley Vincent, every Thursday in Feb. from 5:00-6:00 pm in Dance Room 1 and learn a new line dance each week. Featuring Boots on the Ground, Country Girl, Keep on Steppin and Cowboy Boggin. Cost is $50.00 with limited spaces. Pre-registration is required. 


Self Defense for Women:  Learning practical self-defense techniques which increase your confidence and ability to protect yourself in real-life situations, ensuring personal safety. Join martial arts instructor, Lionell Moss, in a free demonstration awareness workshop from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on May 5. Space is limited, so reserve your spot.


Resume Workshop; High School Students & Graduating Seniors: This engaging workshop helps high school students prepare for their next step—college, scholarships, or their first job. Participants will learn how to create a simple, effective résumé that highlights academic achievements, extracurriculars, volunteer work, and special skills. A great confidence-builder for teens entering new opportunities. High School Students (Ages 14–18). The workshop will meet Monday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 pm for a cost of only $20.00.


Jewelry & Accessories Making:  Explore your creativity through the art of handmade jewelry and accessories. Participants will learn to design and create custom pieces using beads, wire, leather, and other materials. No prior experience required—just bring your imagination. A class will meet at 7:00 pm on the first and third Monday or Wednesday starting in Jan. - May. The cost is only $20 per meeting with a supply fee to be announced upon registration.


Small Decor Crafts Workshop: Turn everyday materials into stunning home décor pieces! From seasonal wreaths to wall art and centerpiece designs, this hands-on course helps you express your personal style while learning basic crafting and design techniques. Great for beginners and DIY enthusiasts alike. This class is available for ages 12 and up. A class will meet on Saturdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am on the dates of Jan. 10, 24, Feb. 7, 21, March 7, 21, April 4, 18, May 2, and 16. The cost is only $20 per meeting with a supply fee to be announced upon registration. 


Large Decor Crafts Workshop: Create beautiful statement décor pieces that transform your space! This advanced-level crafting class focuses on larger projects such as wall art, floral installations, custom centerpieces, and seasonal home displays. Perfect for adults looking to elevate their design skills and bring bold ideas to life. A class will meet on Saturdays from 9:00 - 10:00 am on the dates of Jan. 10, 24, Feb. 7, 21, March 7, 21, April 4, 8, May 2, 16. The cost isonly $40 per meeting with a supply fee to be announced upon registration. 


Sneaker Customization Workshop: Transform ordinary sneakers into wearable art! In this fun, creative workshop, participants will learn the basics of sneaker painting, fabric application, and design customization. Bring your own shoes and leave with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that shows off your personality. Class is offered the last Sat. in Feb. and April starting at 9:00 am. This class is for ages 12 and up. The cost is $60 per meeting with a supply fee to be announced upon registration.


Conversational Spanish Workshop: Join us for two fun and engaging Community Education workshops to learn conversational Spanish with Kearstyn Seay! These sessions are designed for community members who want to develop practical language skills for everyday communication. Workshops are free!

  • Basic Conversational Spanish: Learn essential vocabulary, common phrases, pronunciation, and listening comprehension through real-life situations such as greetings, shopping, dining, travel, and community interactions. No prior Spanish experience is required! Class will meet Tues., March 17 at 6:00 pm.

  • Intermediate Conversational Spanish: Build on your basic Spanish skills and strengthen your ability to speak and understand the language. This workshop focuses on pronunciation, vocabulary expansion, and forming more natural and engaging conversations through meaningful dialogue and practice. Class will meet Tues., April 14 at 6:00 pm. 


Babysitter Basics: Skills for Safety and Fun! Learn the skills needed to be a confident and responsible babysitter! This hands-on workshop is designed for youth and teens who want to care for children safely and effectively. Participants will learn childcare basics, safety and emergency preparedness, age-appropriate activities, communication skills with parents, and how to handle common challenges while babysitting. The class also covers basic first aid, CPR awareness, and tips for starting a babysitting business. No prior experience required — just a desire to learn and have fun while gaining valuable life skills! Date is April 18, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Instructors are Michelle Waites and Stephanie Loveless and the cost is $10.00.


Community Basketball League: Join friends, neighbors, and fellow basketball enthusiasts for open gym basketball at the college! This program provides community members of all skill levels an opportunity to enjoy friendly games, practice shooting, and stay active in a supportive, recreational environment. Participants can form teams, play pick-up games, or simply work on their skills. Supervision and basic equipment are provided; players should bring appropriate athletic attire and shoes. Instructors: Anthony McDonald, Sammy Johnson and Kearstyn Seay. Cost is $25 and will take place March 7 &28 from 9 am -11 am.


Bulbs to Blooms: Spring Planter Creations: Come join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where we’ll create vibrant and colorful spring planters perfect for brightening up your home--inside or out! Learn how to mix and match bulbs, blooms, and greenery to design a long-lasting planter that will flourish from spring into summer. All materials are provided, and each participant will take home their own custom planter to enjoy and show off! Cost:$75/person; time and date TBA.

Digital Marketing Crash Course: Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to digital marketing, designed specifically for small business owners and entrepreneurs. In this practical and engaging series, you'll learn the fundamentals of digital marketing, explore budget-friendly tools, and walk away with actionable strategies you can implement right away. Sessions will be held on Jan. 15, 20, and 22 from 5:30–7:00 pm. Cost is $25 for all three sessions or $10 per session. Instructor is Caroline Kirby, a Digital Marketing Strategist with 8 years of experience helping businesses grow online.


Beginner Mahjong: Learn and Play! Join instructor Denise Houghton for a fun, four-session intro to this classic tile game—perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a refresher! Learn the basics of gameplay, strategy, and etiquette in a relaxed, social setting with real-game practice. Wrap up with a festive Mahjong & MuMu Party featuring snacks, drinks, and a chance to show off your new skills. All materials and refreshments provided! Cost is $65 for all 4 sessions or $20 per session. Dates: Nov. 10, 17, Dec. 1 and 8 from 5:30–7 pm. This will be played in the PCCUA Student Center. Spots are limited so register early!


D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) Book Club: Do you remember the days of Drop Everything and Read in elementary school fondly? Bring that joy back by joining us on the first Mon. of each month for a book lovers' break! Bring whatever book you’re reading (or listening to), enjoy some light snacks, share what you’re into, and then settle in for an hour of uninterrupted reading time. It’s a relaxing way to connect with fellow readers and make space for the books you love. Meets from 5:00–6:30 pm in the PCCUA Student Center. Free and open to all!

Digital Marketing Crash Course: Kickstart your small business’s digital marketing strategy with our beginner-friendly series designed for small business owners and entrepreneurs. In the 3 sessions your will learn the fundamentals of digital marketing, discover budget friendly tools and get actionable strategies you can use right away. Instructor will be Caroline Kirby. Caroline is a digital marketing strategist with over 8 years of experience with both large organizations and small family businesses. Cost is $30 and Date and time will be announced later.

Canva for Marketing and More: Want to create great-looking designs without being a designer? This beginner-friendly class introduces Canva and shows you how to make eye-catching graphics for your small business or personal projects. Learn simple design basics, easy tips and tricks, and how to use Canva’s
templates to create social medial posts, flyers and more. No experience needed!. Instructor will be Kalli Manis. Kalli is an experienced user of Canva as a free-lance digital marketing designer and for designing flyers/ads and more at Phillips Community College. Cost is $30 and Date and time will be announced later.

Martial Arts (non-credit): Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport focused on unarmed combat, characterized by fast, high, spinning, and jumping kicks. Translating to "the way of the foot and fist," it emphasizes using legs for distance and power, alongside hand strikes, blocking, and mental discipline. Join our team of Lionel Moss and Chuck Schaffhauser on Tuesday and Thursday for ages 6-14 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm at a cost of only $55.00. Ages 15 and up 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm at a cost of $75.00. Classes will run from September 1st - November 26th.

Dance for Children: Enroll your child in the PCCUA Dance Program! Fall classes begin the week of August 17. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and private lessons are available. Students are encouraged to register before the end of July to allow for proper class placement. The program is open to students ages 4 and up. Tuition rates are as follows: Preschool (ages 4–5): $90 Grades 1–2: $100 Grades 3–12: $120 Hip Hop: $65 Trio (limited slots): $120; Duets: $140; Solo: $160. Private lessons are limited, with priority given to older students. Instructors will be announced at a later date. The annual recital will be held in April.

ACT Math, English & Reading Review: Brush up on your English, math, and reading skills to prepare for the ACT Assessment Test. National ACT test dates are scheduled one week after each review workshop. Review sessions will be held on September 12 and December 5. The cost is $30 for one session or $50 for both sessions.

CPR for Health Care Providers: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure performed when a person’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped, such as during a heart attack or near drowning. CPR can help save a life. This class will meet on one Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on one of the following dates: September 4 or September 11. The cost is $75.00, and enrollment is limited to 10 students per class. Nursing students must register with Wandra Williams at 870-739-0308 or by email at wwilliams@pccua.edu.

Mahjong for Fun: Join us for weekly Mahjong sessions open to players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced. Games will be held every Monday from
6–8 PM throughout the month of September. Participation is limited to four tables, accommodating a total of 16 players. You can register as an individual or bring a group of four to form your own table. The sessions will be hosted by Barbie Washburn and Debby Hayes. While participation is free, registration is required. To reserve your spot(s), please contact Wandra Williams at 870-739-0308.

Sip and Drip: Mingle with friends old and new, sip a glass of wine, and unwind as local artist, Monica Petter, guides you through the playful and vibrant technique
of acrylic drip painting, this time on a flowerpot! No experience needed, just bring your imagination. Come for the art, stay for the laughs,and leave with a one-of-a-kind creation to brighten your home or garden. Date/Time/Cost will be announced at a later date.

Mahjong Open Play: Join us for our bi monthly Open Play Mahjong sessions, where players from curious beginners to seasoned experts come together for a fun
and welcoming experience. Whether you’re looking to learn the basics, refine strategies, or simply enjoy a lively game, our Mahjong community offers the perfect setting to connect, relax, and have fun. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats and tiles, or share a set with a friend. Each session is a chance to hone your skills, meet new people, and catch up with familiar faces in a warm, social atmosphere. Come shuffle the tiles, share some laughs, and discover just how rewarding and exciting Mahjong can be! This will take place the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 5-8:30 p.m. and the cost is free.

Mahjong & Mingle: Get ready to shuffle, laugh, and learn in Mahjong and Mingle with instructor, Denise Houghton. This is the perfect class for total beginners who
want a fun, social introduction to this classic game! Over four lively sessions, you’ll pick up the basics: learning the suits and tiles, building the wall, trying out the Charleston, and then diving into guided and free play. It’s lighthearted, friendly, and all about having a great time while discovering a new hobby. Come meet new people, challenge your brain, and maybe even land your first Mahjong victory! date/Time will be announced at a later date.

Mahjong Momentum: Level Up & Laugh Long: Ready to take your tiles to the next level? Mahjong Momentum is the perfect follow up to Mahjong and Mingle. Denise Houghton will join us again as the instructor in a fun class for players who know the basics and want to sharpen their skills while still having a great time. Over four lively sessions, you’ll refine strategy, practice smarter decision making, and play with more confidence as you learn when to switch hands, read the table, and make bolder moves. We’ll keep the energy fun and friendly with guided practice, creative challenges, and plenty of free play to boost your instincts. If you’re ready to level up your game (and enjoy some good company while you’re at it), this class keeps the joy of Mahjong rolling!
